Product Information
A Ketchup Bottle Cap with Silicone Valve is a dispensing closure designed to control the flow of ketchup and other viscous sauces. Instead of relying only on a conventional open dispensing hole, the closure incorporates an elastic silicone valve that responds to pressure inside the bottle. When the bottle is squeezed, the internal pressure opens the silicone cross-slit valve and allows ketchup to pass through. When squeezing stops, the silicone material returns to its original position and closes the dispensing opening.
Featuring a self-sealing silicone valve, ensuring:
Smooth and consistent ketchup flow
No dripping or messy residue
Leak-proof sealing during storage and transport
Compared with traditional flip-top caps, this valve-based design delivers a more hygienic, user-friendly, and efficient dispensing experience—especially for viscous sauces like ketchup.

Common Problem | Hopewell Solution |
Ketchup dripping after squeezing | Self-sealing silicone valve ensures clean cut-off, no drip |
Messy bottle mouth and sticky residue | Anti-drip design keeps nozzle clean |
Over-squeezing and waste | Controlled flow valve for precise dispensing |
Air entering bottle affecting freshness | One-way valve prevents air backflow |
Leakage during transport | Multi-layer sealing structure ensures leak-proof performance |
Difficulty dispensing thick ketchup | Optimized valve structure for smooth dispensing |

The closure is designed for bottles using a 38/400 neck finish, making it suitable for large-format food and condiment packaging.
The bottle can be stored upside down so the ketchup remains close to the dispensing opening. This helps reduce waiting time before dispensing and improves convenience for thick sauces.
The elastic valve automatically closes after dispensing, helping minimize dripping and unwanted product leakage.
The valve structure helps regulate product extrusion and can provide a more consistent dispensing experience than an open nozzle.
The silicone valve is designed to close the dispensing opening after pressure is released, helping reduce sauce strings, dripping and residue around the nozzle.
The self-closing valve helps keep the dispensing area cleaner, reducing the amount of ketchup left around the opening after use.
The two-layer cap construction provides improved stability when the bottle is stored upside down.
Users can hold and squeeze the bottle with one hand, making the closure convenient for household and food-service applications.
The cap can be manufactured using suitable food-contact PP and silicone materials according to the application and required compliance standards.
Cap colors can be customized to match brand identity, product positioning and packaging design.

How to Use
The 38/400 ketchup bottle cap is designed for inverted squeeze dispensing.
Fill the compatible bottle with ketchup or another suitable condiment and securely screw the 38/400 cap onto the bottle neck.
Store or hold the bottle with the dispensing cap facing downward.
Open the top of the closure before dispensing.
Apply gentle pressure to the bottle. The internal pressure activates the silicone valve and allows the ketchup to flow through the cross slit.
Release the bottle after reaching the desired amount. The silicone valve returns to its closed position.
Close the flip-top cover after use to protect the dispensing area from dust and external contamination.
Important: Actual dispensing performance depends on ketchup viscosity, bottle flexibility, valve hardness, slit dimensions, product temperature and filling conditions. Sample testing with the actual formulation is recommended before mass production.

Manufacturing Process
Our 38/400 ketchup bottle cap is manufactured through an integrated plastic closure and silicone valve production process.
Plastic Injection Molding → Fully Automated Cap Folding → Initial Inspection → Silicone Valve Assembly → Quality Inspection → Liner Assembly → 100% Final Inspection → Functional Testing → Dust-Free Packaging → Shipping
During production, the silicone valve is inspected at multiple stages to verify correct installation and prevent missing or incorrectly assembled valves.
Automated CCD inspection can check critical dimensions, appearance and assembly conditions. Functional testing is used to verify dispensing and sealing performance according to the defined product requirements.

FAQ
1
What is a 38/400 ketchup bottle cap?
A 38/400 ketchup bottle cap is a dispensing closure designed for bottles with a 38/400 neck finish. This model includes a silicone valve for controlled dispensing of ketchup and other viscous condiments.
2
Why does the ketchup bottle cap use a silicone valve?
The silicone valve provides a self-sealing dispensing mechanism. It opens when pressure is applied to the bottle and closes when pressure is released, helping reduce dripping and leakage.
3
Is this ketchup cap suitable for inverted bottles?
Yes. The cap is specifically designed for inverted squeeze bottle applications. The double-layer structure also provides additional stability when the bottle is stored cap-down.
4
Can it dispense thick ketchup?
The closure is designed for ketchup and other viscous products. However, dispensing performance depends on product viscosity, temperature, bottle flexibility, valve hardness and slit dimensions. Testing with the actual ketchup formulation is recommended.
5
Does the valve prevent ketchup from dripping?
The self-sealing silicone valve is designed to reduce dripping and product residue after dispensing. Actual anti-drip performance should be verified using the final bottle and product formulation.
6
Can I get samples before placing an order?
Yes. Free samples are available for evaluation. Sample freight can be arranged on a freight-collect basis.
